Trunomi is a financial technology company providing software for financial institutions to comply with know your customer (KYC) regulations. History
Trunomi was founded by CEO Stuart Lacey, launching in October 2014, and has offices in Bermuda, Silicon Valley, and London. The technology is focused on allowing banks to manage customer consent to use personal data. Before its official launch, the company raised an angel round of financing from an investor group including a private equity fund, KPMG Bermuda, and others. In September 2015 the company raised $3 million in venture capital funding from Saturn Partners with participation by Fenway Summer, Persistent Ventures, and SenaHill Partners. In April 2016 Trunomi announced a partnership with technology company InAuth, a specialist in advanced device authentication, to bring enhanced fraud protection and security for customer on-boarding and data life cycle management in financial services.
Awards and recognition
In April 2016 Trunomi was named a finalist in the 2016 Benzinga Fintech Awards - Proprietary Technology & APIs category. On 24 May 2016 Trunomi was announced as the winner of Proprietary Technology & APIs and also named the Most Promising Startup.
In November 2015 Trunomi won the TechAwards 2015 International Innovation Award for the second year in a row.
In September 2015 Trunomi was named as one of the Fintech Forward - 20 Fintech Companies to Watch by American Banker and BAI
Also in September 2015, Trunomi was selected as a finalist, and eventually the winner, at the Visa Europe Collab Startup Competition.
On June 10, 2015 founder and CEO Stuart Lacey was named as one of Bank Innovation’s 2015 Innovators to Watch.
On January 29, 2015 Trunomi was included in FinTechCity’s “FinTech50”, a list of 50 companies which the list’s compilers believe are “game-changers transforming the future of finance”.
In December 2014, Trunomi was included in American Banker’s top six “Clearinghouse Contenders”, organizations which aim to improve the know your customer vetting process for banks and their corporate clients.
Also in December 2014, the company was shortlisted for the Benzinga FinTech Awards, nominated under the category of ‘Best Enterprise Solutions’.
On November 26, 2014 Trunomi received the Technology Innovation Award for the category of International Innovation of the Year by TechAwards.
