CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO SL TO THE TEST: LOW PROFILE AND LOTS OF COLOR

RAM kits are present in large quantities on the market and at affordable costs, unlike other components that have seen a progressive increase in prices during 2020 , resulting in some cases unavailable. Very often we tend to underestimate the importance of RAM, but Corsair has one more weapon to make the choice fall on its models: an interconnected ecosystem of products.

This allows the creation of very satisfying PCs from a visual point of view, thanks to the iCUE software, which synchronizes the RGB lighting of all compatible components. But the new Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL are not only beautiful to look at, also in terms of performance they are able to meet the needs of gamers on PC.

Beautiful to look at and easy to install

The Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL are sold in a cardboard box, inside which there are the RAMs enclosed in a plastic blister and a short quick installation guide. Even if the pack may seem a bit thin, in reality it does not need much else, the technical specifications are in fact reported directly on the RAM and their configuration, thanks to the XMP 2.0 profile, is very simple, just activate it from the BIOS to immediately get the optimal performance, both on Intel and AMD platforms. The first thing you notice once removed from the blister is the low profile , very often the RAM kits have an oversized passive dissipation system, not a problem inside a common ATX case, but it can be vented in solutions. less bulky,

In the case of the Vengeance RGB Pro SL the problem does not exist, the module and the relative heatsink (in aluminum), including RGB lighting, is only 44 mm high , an advantage when configurations with a small footprint must be created. Speaking of RGB lighting, this is placed entirely in the upper part of the module and can also be observed through small triangular slits in the heatsink.

At the beginning this article we talked about the Corsair ecosystem, which allows you to have an advantage when you go to configure the lighting of the system. In our case, we tested the RAM with a Corsair iCUE 5000X case , equipped with three RGB front fans, inside which the CPU dissipation is entrusted to a Corsair H115i Elite Capellix AIO system . We configured this build, at first, with G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Gold RAMs, also equipped with RGB lighting but not compatible with the iCUE software: the consequence is the need to install a special software for their adjustment.

With the Corsair kit, however, this is not necessary, the whole lighting system is adjusted through the iCUE software in a few simple steps and without the need for additional software.

If you particularly care about the appearance of your PC, the Corsair ecosystem has proved valid and easy to configure, with a few clicks you can synchronize the case, RAM, keyboard, headphones and all the accessories available in the American company's price list.

The RGB lighting of turned out to be beautiful to look at and precise , with several applicable effects: we have opted for the most sober configuration possible, without moving colors but with a blue tone that highlights only small areas inside the case. .
