Wayne Rooney is on the verge of being dismissed.

Sports media 'Sports Bible' reported on the 29th, "Birmingham City, struggling in the championship, is 'considering' replacing Wayne Rooney and has already confirmed a potential replacement."

Rooney was appointed as Birmingham City manager to replace John Uwayesu in early October. This extraordinary decision drew the attention of many fans. Uwayesu led Birmingham City to sixth place in the Championship with five wins in his opening 11 matches, but his coaching career came to an abrupt end.

Two days later, Rooney was appointed Birmingham's new manager on a three-and-a-half-year contract, vowing to upgrade the club after a much-talked-about appointment. Rooney said, "I have a clear direction for the team to move forward, and I will work hard to implement it with the coaching staff. I will create a culture where fans win with an identity that can make them go crazy."

He continued, "My mission is to take the club to the next level, and I can't wait to get started. I know what the fans' expectations are and our mission is to make it happen."

Despite his confident reputation, Rooney has won only two of his 13 matches since taking office. In fact, Birmingham currently sits 19th, just seven points adrift of the Championship relegation zone. According to the media, Birmingham began to search for a replacement for Rooney due to his sluggish performance.

Birmingham is also planning a bold move to sign former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper. Birmingham are not expected to replace Rooney in the coming days, but if the slump continues, the club will take action.

Rooney's comments after his recent loss to Stoke City raised many eyebrows. Rooney admitted he could have replaced the whole team at halftime after his 1-3 defeat. "Ideally, I wish I had 11 replacements because I could have replaced all 11 players at halftime," Rooney said.

He continued, "We didn't do the basics properly. It wasn't that we lacked effort. We lacked knowledge of the game. It's hard to put into words. I didn't expect that kind of performance. I didn't recognize the team off the field. This was hard to accept because we made so much progress in the last few games."

"It wasn't the result, the performance, it wasn't what we wanted to be honest. There was a problem with the way we played. I felt like the players weren't trying to catch the ball, they weren't pressing us the way we wanted to. The goals we lost were ridiculous, and we didn't deserve anything from the game," he said at the end. 스포츠토토

Rooney's next schedule will be even tougher. As he plans to meet Bristol City, ranked eighth in the league, and Leeds United, ranked fourth in the league, in a row, Rooney's position will be even more shaky if he loses in consecutive games.
