The Varna trolleybus system (Bulgarian: Варна Тролейбусен транспорт) forms part of the public transport network of the Black Sea city and municipality of Varna, the third most populous city in Bulgaria.

Opened in January 1986, the system has waxed and waned in size over time. As of 2014, it was made up of four routes.

Services

The Varna trolleybus lines as of 2013 are:

  • 82 Varna railway station – Vladislau Varnesi Park – Vladislav Varnenchik
  • 83 Varna railway station – Mladost – main bus depot – TIS North (line runs from Monday through Friday)
  • 86 Asparuhovo - Pochivka (the line was restored with a slightly changed route on October 1st)
  • 88 Asparuhovo – Mladost – main bus depot – Vladislav Varnenchik
  • There were several more lines in the past which were shut down - 81, 82A, 84, 85, 86A, 87.

    Fleet

    As of 2014, the Varna trolleybus fleet had 40 trolleybuses:

  • Skoda Solaris 26Tr - 30 units
  • Škoda 14Tr - 31 units;
  • Škoda 15Tr - 9 units.
