He was a member of the Danish rock band Bamboo Brothers from 1983 to 1994. They released the albums No easy Way and Bamboo Brothers.
Skovgaard is a music producer and composer for the album Lyv mig Natten Lys with Danish singer-songwriter Laura Illeborg. He had played live and in studio with many Danish and international artists: Peter Thorup, Bobby Ricketts, Delmar Brown, Eivor Palsdottir, Allan Mortensen], Soren Pilmark, Orkenens Sonner and many more.
