History

The company was founded in 1972 as a new company and brand of Dynamit Nobel and HT Troplast in Troisdorf. The company is headquartered in Troisdorf, Germany.

Since its foundation, Trocellen has opened production plants in Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary and Malaysia.

At the end of 2000, the independent company Trocellen GmbH was formed. Due to the investments made into production capabilities and technology the company soon became the only European foam producer offering both chemically cross-linked and physically cross-linked foams for various industries worldwide.

In 2005, the Japanese Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd. and Otsuka Chemical Co. Ltd. took over Trocellen.

In the following years Trocellen acquired Polifoam, a Japanese-Hungarian joint venture founded in 1984. This allowed the company to enter the Central-Eastern European market as a manufacturer of chemically cross-linked polyethylene foams.

In 2011, the company restructured its organization and redefined its market approach, installing a customer-focused organizational strategy with constant market monitoring and business co-operations.

In 2014 Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd. became the sole owner of Trocellen.

Products

The company manufactures several different products based on polyolefin foams, e.g. air ducts, vacuum form parts, compression moulded parts.
