The trilloch first appeared in the original first edition Fiend Folio (1981).
The trilloch appeared in second edition for the Planescape setting in Planescape Monstrous Compendium Appendix III (1998).
The trilloch can be found in third edition in the Monster Manual III (2004).
Description
A trilloch is an extraordinarily rare creature originating on the Negative Energy Plane. It is a creature of pure negative energy that sustains itself on the lifeforce of dying creatures, using its powers to accelerate the dying process.
