Early career
Mutero was born in Masvingo Zimbabwe in 1993, but moved to the UK to live with his aunt in 2004.
Reading
Mutero joined Reading at the age of 12 after being spotted by the club's scouts while playing for Burton Rovers; and undergoing a two-week trial. He attracted attention from clubs such as Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday.
Glyfada FC
In 2013, Mutero signed a three-year contract with Greek side Glyfada FC.
International career
In April 2011, Mutero earned him his first call up to play for the Zimbabwean national under-20 football team in a tournament which was played in Cape Town, South Africa. Mutero helped the 'Young Warriors' win the Bayhill Tournament, scoring four goals in five games. In December of the same year, he was called up again to play and captain the U20s in the COSAFA Tournament where he scored two goals in three games. He has also played for the U23s.
