Traralgon College, is a public high school located in Traralgon, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.

Traralgon College enrolls roughly 1200 students across two different campuses on each side of the town. The east campus is the Junior Campus (Years 7–9) and the West Campus (Years 10–12) is for Senior students. Traralgon college offers a broad curriculum to cater for students with academic, trade or vocational interests, with an extensive range of VCE subjects, VET and VCAL programs, the school attracts large numbers of students of different socioeconomic status backgrounds wishing to pursue different and unique career paths.

Contents

Traralgon college accepts many different students of varying academic levels and needs. The school caters to high school students in the Latrobe Valley, 145 km east of Melbourne, which forms part of Latrobe City, with an area population of 75,000. The area is home to Victoria's electricity generation industry, with other key industries including agriculture, forestry, manufacturing (including the development of new technologies) and government services.

Despite the schools distance from the nearest city, Melbourne is still easily accessible by road and rail from the school. The rail journey is just 2 hours, with frequent services to and from Melbourne every day. There is good highway access through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne to the central business district and the school has partnerships with other universities and colleges locally and overseas.

East Campus

The east campus of Traralgon College is in the process of renovations after a long needed change to the schools environment which is due for completion sometime soon. This campus consists of students in the year level 7 to 9 and started to offer the Hands on Learning program in 2009.

West Campus

The west campus is the more serious and academic part of the school as it consists of VCE and VCAL in the year levels 10–12.

History

The college lost its camp and some buildings in the East Campus in four fires suffered in 2006.
