Roadways
The city has many internal roads as well as state and national highways for road connectivity. The Mahatma Gandhi Inner Ring Road is an arterial road of Guntur that starts at National Highway 16 and has a stretch of 6.34 km (3.94 mi), encircles the city and ends on the same highway. State Highway 48 and State Highway 2 are the state highways that connects Chebrolu and Macherla respectively.
The GT Road, JKC College Road, Lakshmipuram Road, Ring Road, Pattabhipuram Road and Palakaluru Road etc., are the city roads. The Guntur–Amaravati Road, Guntur–Parchoor Road, Guntur–Nandivelugu Road are the inter-district roads.
Public transport
Auto rickshaws are the major means of transport for the city commuters. APSRTC introduced new city services in major routes of the city and suburbs as well.
Train transit
Trains are a common mode of transportation in Guntur City and its surroundings. There are many local railway stations to serve the needs of suburban and rural regions. Guntur junction is the main railway station and a divisional headquarter in the (Guntur division) of South Central Railway zone in the south central region. New Guntur railway station is another railway station which is connected to the city and will ease to travel passengers towards Chennai, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam
