Transpacific is an ASX top 100 listed company, employing over 4,500 people across Australia. Transpacific has over 200 sites and depots, more than 45 major processing plants, and provides over 300 products and services. The company services customers ranging from small businesses to large multi-national commercial and industrial organisations across a range of different industries. History

Transpacific commenced in August 1987, operating principally in South-East Queensland in liquid waste management and truck importation and distribution. Since this time, Transpacific has grown to become Australasia and New Zealand’s leading integrated waste management, recycling and industrial solutions organisation. Recent history

  • Commenced trading in South East Queensland in 1987.
  • In 1990, the company established liquid waste management centres in Townsville, Mackay, Cairns and Mount Isa.
  • Throughout the 1990s, Transpacific continued to expand into New South Wales and Victoria.
  • In 2000 the company entered into a long term exclusive importation and distribution agreement for Western Star Trucks products in Australia, New Zealand and selected Asian markets.
  • Transpacific became an exclusive agency for the importation and distribution of MAN Truck and Bus for Australia and New Zealand in 2000.
  • The company entered the Western Australian marketplace in 2001 as part of a liquid waste joint venture.
  • Transpacific listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in May 2005.
  • The Waste Management New Zealand business was purchased in 2006.
  • Between 2005 and 2009, Transpacific undertook a number of strategic acquisitions to provide integrated waste management solutions to clients.
  • The Cleanaway Australia business was purchased in 2007.
  • The company commissioned Australia’s first purpose built hydrogenation plant in 2007 to recycle used mineral oil and create fuel oil base stock (Joint Venture).

  • Kevin Campbell was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer in 2011.
  • In 2013 Transpacific sold the commercial vehicle division to Penske Automotive Group
  • Robert Boucher commences as Chief Executive Officer in November 2013.
  • June 2014, completion of the sale of TPI’s New Zealand business to Beijing Capital Group for a price of NZ$950 million (A$880 million).

    The Industrials division includes services such as liquid and hazardous waste management, vacuum handling, high pressure water cleaning, emergency spills response, and hydro excavation.
