Training Camp is an IT jobs owned by CEO Christopher Porter. The company teaches IT skills to individuals looking to upgrade their skills as well as offering continuing education classes to IT professionals. In addition to its for-profit business, Training Camp launched a program called Stepping Stones for individuals unable to finance job training and re-training programs in information technology certification during the late-2000s recession. The company also allows previous attendees of their courses to attend more for free if they become unemployed, as well as courses through the Microsoft Elevate America program, which has offered one million free IT training vouchers to unemployed Americans. The company has won multiple preferred product awards from Redmond Magazine, and was one of three finalists for the 2010 Citizenship Partner of the Year award presented by Microsoft. As a part of its awareness raising campaign for unemployed IT professionals, Training Camp and its owner has been a guest of Fox Business and CNN, as well as local NBC and FOX news programs.
