Visakhapatnam (or Vizag) is the largest city in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The city and its region contain natural features such as beaches along the Bay of Bengal coast, scenic hills, valleys, and caves, as well as landmarks in the city itself. Eco-tourism is supported by the presence of national parks and wildlife sanctuaries. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation is the state tourism department, responsible for maintaining, promoting and developing the tourism sector.

Landmarks
Landmarks in the city include Dolphin's Nose, a dolphin shaped mountain outcrop; INS Kursura museum, a submarine museum; a lighthouse; the Kailasagiri hill park; and VUDA Park and Tenneti Park, maintained by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority. Wildlife tourism is available in the Indira Gandhi National Park and the Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary. Religious tourism sites include the Simhachalam and ISKON temples. Other nearby locations include Araku Valley (Hill station), and Borra Caves in Ananthagiri Hills.
