Athletics

Toombs County High School's sports teams are known as the Bulldogs. This nickname was adopted from Lyons High School, which was combined with Toombs Central School in 1987 to form Toombs County High School. The Lyons High School colors were changed from red, white, and black to red, white, and navy, to represent Toombs Central School, whose colors were yellow and navy.

The Bulldogs compete in the Georgia High School Association's class AA in region 2AA. They are competitive in all sports but have historically been more competitive in football, baseball, and wrestling. Toombs County plays Vidalia High School each year in Toombs-Vidalia Week, a week filled with spirit leading up to the big game. Vidalia is the Bulldogs' most competitive rival.

Toombs County has won one state championship in school history, which was in baseball in 1996.

Football

The Toombs County Bulldogs football team has won five region titles since its inception in 1987. The Bulldogs have an all time record of 149–115–0. Toombs County has won five region championships. The current head coach of the Toombs County Bulldogs is Richie Marsh. From 2005–2012 Marsh coached the Thomasville Bulldogs. In his eight seasons at Thomasville, he led his team to the AA GHSA State Playoffs seven times, making the Elite 8 twice and the second round twice. He has also won five high school state weightlifting championships in Florida and Georgia.

Booster Stadium

Toombs County plays in Booster Stadium, locally known as "The Pit" due to it being dug into the ground rather than being on ground level like most high school stadiums. Booster Stadium also has a tunnel that connects the rear parking lot with the playing surface, which is rare among high school stadiums. It is known as a tough place to play due to the high level of crowd noise and its hard, unforgiving playing surface. Toombs County Board of Education officials have toyed with the idea of renovating the stadium over the past few years. Renovations would include new home stands where the visitor stands are currently located and a new field house.

Redcoat Marching Band

The Redcoat Marching Band, formerly known as the "Dixie Redcoats", is the official marching band of Toombs County High School. The current Director is Mr. Noah Bullard.
