In the early spring of 1984, Elton John set out to tour Australia in promotion of Too Low for Zero. Although the album was released in May 1983, this was the only live promotion the album received. Elton and the band performed three shows in New Zealand before performing nineteen shows in Australia and two shows in Hong Kong.

Ticket sales were phenomenal - most of the concerts were sold out, breaking all previous records.
