Tony Mills, M.D., is an American physician who specializes in treatment of HIV and AIDS. He is one of the leading clinician in the fields of Men's Health and HIV disease. Dr. Mills has served as the primary care provider for over 2,000 patients, including approximately half living with HIV. Dr. Mills received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from Duke University. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine, a residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Anesthesiology, all at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Mills is a member of many professional societies including; the Infectious Disease Society of America, International AIDS Society, IAS-USA, and the American Academy of HIV Medicine. He is currently the executive director of SoCal Men's Medical Group, the clinical research director of Mills Clinical Research, and the president of the Men's Health Foundation.

Education
Mills graduated from Duke University School of Medicine and was awarded both the Stanley Sarnoff Fellowship Award in Cardiovascular Research and the Eugene Stead Research Award. He began his clinical practice in 1991 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City, concentrating on heart transplantation and cardiovascular research.
In 1994, Mills was named Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology at the University of Miami, where he was actively involved in both the recovery community and in the gay community as an advocate for people living with HIV.
In 1999, he moved to Los Angeles and opened a general medical practice specializing in HIV care. He was certified as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine in 2000 and currently serves on both the California Board and the National Board of the AAHIVM. In 2002, Mills joined the Clinical Medicine Faculty at UCLA where he works actively with residents and fellows and is a frequent lecturer.
He is the current editor of HIV Treatment News and is a frequent contributor to other HIV-related publications.

The Men's Health Foundation
The Men’s Health Foundation is proud to be a part of the national CDC funded provider network to implement high-impact prevention strategies to help reduce the number of new HIV infections and STDs among men and increase the number of men engaged in medical care. These strategies include testing and linkage to care, prevention for negatives (condoms, PrEP, risk reduction counseling) and prevention for positives (Treatment as Prevention).
A leader in the provision of PrEP, the Men’s Health Foundation is currently conducting two PrEP investigator research studies – one for those who have fallen out of PrEP care and another for transgender women. Staff is also engaged in a national PrEP clinical training program that is targeting 15 cities nationally to increase clinical knowledge on PrEP as well as greater access to this proven prevention strategy. Community trainings in multiple U.S. cities and large Men’s Health Summits in key parts of Los Angeles County are underway.
The Men’s Health Foundation is in planning to open a community-based clinic in an underserved part of Los Angeles County to provide HIGH-QUALITY men’s healthcare and prevention services and a cadre of wraparound programs to support retention in care: mental health counseling, patient care coordination, PrEP navigation and benefits counseling.
The Men’s Health Foundation will create and promote service delivery models that facilitate and expand linkage to care, social service and other internal or external service providers to increase retention in care, improve medical outcomes and provide comprehensive support services for men, especially young GBTQ men of color, regardless of HIV status.
The Men’s Health Foundation will work in strategic partnerships with service providers to expand the range of care, treatment and services available to men, especially young men at risk for STDS and HIV/AIDS.
Anthony Mills, MD is a recognized leader in men’s healthcare and research. As Medical Director of the Southern California Men’s Medical Group, Dr. Mills oversees a staff of thirty-five employees, including seven clinicians and a clinical research division who serve 7,000 male patients. As Executive Director of the Men’s Health Foundation, Dr. Mills is supervising high-impact prevention care and treatment for young men at risk for HIV and is in planning on a community-based clinic that offers integrated men’s healthcare and HIV specialty care with wraparound services of mental health and patient navigation services in an underserved area of Los Angeles County. Dr. Mills has been the Principal Investigator in over 100 clinical trials, is an accredited HIV physician and serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCLA.

International Mister Leather
On May 5, 1998, having earned the regional title of Mister Mid-Atlantic Leather, Mills entered and won the International Mister Leather contest, competing against 61 contestants from 7 countries.
Since winning the contest, Mills has been featured in the documentaries Beyond Vanilla and Mr. Leather. He has also been a model for the COLT Studio Group.
