King s tommy palm on heading east and tapping into the next generation
Background

Palm first learned to program games for the Commodore 64 home computer in 1986 with Martin Vilcans.
Career

In early 2015 Palm officially launched his Resolution Games virtual reality gaming studio and became the CEO. The new business is based in Stockholm and currently employs three – Palm, Martin Vilcans and Carl-Arvid Ewerbring. This is the fifth company that Palm has helped to set up. Prior to this, Palm was the spokesperson and games guru for King Digital Entertainment. It went public at $6 billion on the strength of their success with Candy Crush Saga. Prior to this, he was the founder of the mobile game maker Fabrication Games. He also founded Jadestone, the Game Trail, and the Swedish game accelerator Stugan.
Non-profit work

Palm founded an accelerator called Stugan (or cabin in English). He is inviting 20 aspiring developers to spend two summer months in a cabin in the Swedish woods during the summer of 2015 to work on their upcoming games. During this non-profit initiative the young developers will also learn the tricks of marketing, business models and entrepreneurship. Other mentors and workshop leaders who will be part of Stugan include: Jens Bergensten (lead developer, Minecraft); Oskar Burman (GM, Rovio Stockholm); Christofer Sundberg (creative director, Avalanche Studios); Paul Bragiel (managing partner and co-founder of I/O Ventures); and Alexander Ekvall (director of product, King).
