Tom Scholey (born 1986) is an award-winning angling journalist from Sheffield. Since the age of 16, he has contributed to several angling publications and Internet sites. He began his career as a columnist for Angling Star, before being headhunted to edit Northern Angling Today magazine.

When the publishing company that ran the magazine folded, Tom worked briefly as Editor of top ranking fishing site, Fishing4Fun, before taking a job as assistant editor of Pole Fishing Magazine. In 2012, Tom was promoted to Digital News Editor at Pole Fishing’s parent company, DHP.

In addition to his own editorial work, Tom has also been featured in Northern Angler, Angling Times, Match Fishing Magazine and Anglers Mail.

A regular on top flight match fishing circuit, Tom prides himself on being an allround angler, fishing a variety of different venues throughout a season.

Notable achievements include winning the 2009 Maver Pairs Final individually, and finishing second in the pairs event with Matt Godfrey. The pair also qualified for the 2010 final, but failed to better the result of the previous year. The 2010 season also saw Tom make the Top 40 in the Sky Sports UK Angling Championship.

Tom has competed in the finals of the prestigious Evesham Angling Festival, in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and qualified for the £50,000 Maver Match This final in 2013, after winning the qualifier at White Acres.

Along with Matt Godfrey, Tom also won the 2013 Preston Parkdean Pairs Festival at White Acres.

He has a degree in English Studies from Sheffield Hallam University, and was cited David Hall Publishings Editorial Star of the Year 2010.
