"To Be Free" is a song recorded by Japanese boy band Arashi. It was released on July 7, 2010 by their record label J Storm. The song was used as a theme song for the commercials for Mitsuya Cider which starred Arashi member Sho Sakurai. Only one version of the physical single was released, containing the song's instrumental track and a DVD.

Chart performance

The single sold around 180,000 copies on the first day of its release on July 7, 2010, debuting at number one on the Oricon daily singles chart. On July 13, 2010, "To Be Free" placed at number-one on the Oricon weekly singles chart, becoming the group's twentieth consecutive number-one single since their 2004 single "Pikanchi Double". Together with member Satoshi Ohno's solo single "Yukai Tsukai Kaibutsu-kun" (ユカイツーカイ怪物くん), which was released on the same day as "To Be Free" and placed at number-two, Arashi and Ohno accomplished the rare feat of a group and a solo artist from the group simultaneously taking the top two spots for the first time in nearly ten years.

"To Be Free" remained number-one on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart for two consecutive weeks. According to Oricon, "To Be Free" is the tenth best-selling single of 2010 in Japan.
