Tío Gamboín (real name Ramiro Gamboa) was a popular Mexican television host. He is mostly remembered for presenting Televisa's cartoon programing on Canal 5 on weekday evenings, where he would read letters from fans and display a collection of different mechanical figurines, some of which became famous in their own right. Those Supporters eager to become members of Gamboin's club were affectionately termed his "nieces and nephews." In turn, Gamboín assumed the familial role of "uncle," or "Tío," which led to his nickname "Tío Gamboín."
