Biography

Since 1992, Tiny Doo has engaged frequently in activities that help the community he was raised in. Building a reputation as an artist who could portray the culture and the community of Southeast, San Diego, Tiny Doo has been a beloved rapper in San diego for the last 17 years. His artistic journey took a sharp turn in 2014 when he, along with 32 other black men, were arrested and charged with gang conspiracy. Because of his membership the Lincoln Park Bloods, and his lyrics that depict the reality of gang life, San Diego District Attorney was able to charge Tiny Doo with nine shootings he was involved in.

The case of Tiny Doo and penal code 182.5, what some are now calling the Lynch Code, gained national media attention. From CNN to Huffington Post, journalist, advocate, and legal experts were asking, 'how a man could be put behind bars for song lyrics?' Its was a 7-month legal battle to get Tiny Doo released from jail. Once the charges were dropped, Doo joined his community to use his musical platform to fight against the criminalization of black youth and their culture. He has been up and down the state of California advocating for change in America's criminal justice system. In the past year, Tiny Doo has been creating music that speaks to his new passions. Still representing Southeast, still representing Lincoln Park, still rapping about the complexities of gang life, Doo now addresses the fight from a new angle. His upcoming album "AmeriKKKa's Finest City", will tell the story of his life as a gang member and convict.
