History

Established in 1982 in Tamarac, Florida, Tint World first began by specializing in automotive window tinting. Since then, Tint World has expanded their services to include auto security, car stereo and video systems, etc. In 2006, Tint World, LLC was formed and began franchising; the first franchise store opened in Davie, Florida.

As of 2016, 67 franchised units are open or in development in North America.

Franchise

American entrepreneur Charles J. Bonfiglio is the chief executive officer for Tint World, LLC and began franchising in 2006. In 2013, the chain had sold franchise licenses for 47 stores in the U.S. with 24 stores up and running and 12 to 15 scheduled to open later in the year. Currently, 25 percent of franchisees are multi-store owners and 60 percent are Owner-operator.

In 2015, Tint World finalized seven new vendor partnerships, including Rhino-Rack USA and HornBlasters. In April, 2016 the company partnered with XPEL Technologies Corp to sell the supplier's paint protection film at Tint World's franchise locations across the U.S.

In May 2016, the first car audio/Tint World co-branded shop opened as Auto Sound Specialists, near San Francisco.

Awards and recognition

Tint World has been recognized by Inc. 5000 for three consecutive years as part of its annual list of fastest-growing private companies in America. Entrepreneur Online has also ranked Tint World as one of the top 500 franchises for 2013 and 2016. Franchise Gator ranked the company as the No. 3 top-emerging, No. 14 fastest-growing and No. 36 of the top 100 franchises of 2016.
