Tim Ryals (born 1962) is an American politician, veteran of the United States Army and law enforcement professional from Conway, Arkansas. A Republican, Ryals is currently a candidate for Faulkner County Sheriff.

Law enforcement career
After serving in the United States Army he transitioning into his law enforcement as a reserve deputy for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department. After a series of promotions, he was promoted to deputy where he worked on a number of high-profile cases. His professionalism and dedication to his work quickly led to promotions to jailor, patrol, supervisor, dive team and narcotics. After 6 years of service, Tim was hired by the Arkansas State Police. Throughout his time with the Arkansas State Police, he served in a variety of capacities including: member of the Narcotics Section of the Criminal Investigation Division, pilot for the Aircraft Division, trooper for the Highway Patrol Division in Faulkner County and Pulaski County, the Drug Interdiction Team, the K-9 Unit and the SWAT Team.
Political career
Ryals announced his candidacy for the Republican Party nomination for Faulkner County Sheriff on March 1, 2012. He was defeated in the Republican primary with 2,759 (33.5%) of the vote.
Following Governor Asa Hutchinson's appointment of Andy Shock to the Arkansas State Parole Board, Ryals announced his plans to run again for the Republican Party nomination for Faulkner County Sheriff.
Personal life
In his free time Ryals performs in his church’s music ministry, offers spiritual guidance and advice, and serves his community through his support of the Renewal Ranch and Soul Food Cafe. He is a graduate of the Agape School of World Evangelism. He also attended the University of Central Arkansas and Black River University in pursuit of a criminal justice degree
Tim is married to Wendy Ryals, who is currently detailed with the Arkansas State Police Executive Protection Unit for Gov. Asa Hutchinson. Tim and Wendy have five children and four grandchildren. He and his family are active members of the Conway Cowboy Church in Conway.
