History

Tickmill was established in Mahe, Seychelles in August 2014 by its current shareholders. In January 2015, the company started providing retail brokerage services. Tickmill started its CFD operations in March 2015, which covered stock indices for Germany, Japan, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. The company's trading instruments include 64 currency pairs and precious metals.

In June 2015, Tickmill announced the launch of its renewed "introducing broker" program.

In August 2015, the company introduced VIP accounts as well as added HK50 index to meet the demand of Asian clients.

In 2015, Tickmill joined forces with BeeksFX to provide its traders with a reliable low latency VPS solution.

In March 2016, Tickmill introduced a new partnership model – Multi Account Manager (MAM), which helps professional money managers trade on behalf of their clients. The company also launched Islamic accounts that are compliant with the Sharia law.

In July 2016, the company had a reached a trading volume record of $49.1 billion (USD).

In November 2016, Tickmill obtained a license from the UK regulator the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for its UK entity, Tmill UK Limited. With the FCA authorization, Tickmill is set to expand its reach to the UK and Europe. The company hired Duncan Anderson as the CEO of Tickmill UK. With extensive experience in financial industry, Anderson held various management positions in different exchange market-related companies.

In February 2017, Tickmill introduces Autochartist technical analysis tool on their MT4 platform to identify support and resistance levels, evaluate risk possibility, optimise stop loss and take profit levels, improve market entry and exit points, and capitalise on market-moving news events.

Platform and accounts

Tickmill uses MetaTrader 4 (MT4) as its Forex trading platform. MetaTrader 4 is available for Microsoft Windows and Android devices. In July 2015, Tickmill also introduced a native MT4 application for Mac users.

The Company also provides AutoTrade (copy trading platform) solution. It allows copying trades from different systems and adds them to the Tickmill's users MetaTrader 4 account. Tickmill provides the money managers of PAMM accounts also the possibility to participate in the Introducing Broker (IB) program and earns additional IB commissions on clients introduced to the company.
