Thiruppalaikudi (natively known as Thiruvadanai) is a village in Rajasingamangalam Taluk in Ramanathapuram District of Tamil Nadu State, India. It is located 36 kilometres towards north from District headquarters Ramanathapuram and 480 kilometres from State capital Chennai.

History

Thiruppalaikudi achieved the status of district in September 30, 1989, after it got separated from the then-called North Arcot District.

Economy

Thiruppalaikudi is surrounded by Ramanathapuram, Devipattinam, Thondi, Raja Singa Mangalam, and Karaikudi. It is near the Bay of Bengal with humid weather. Fishing is the most common occupation in this region, which is also surrounded by prawn farms.
