Things to Come (French title: L'Avenir) is a 2016 French-German drama film written and directed by Mia Hansen-Løve and starring Isabelle Huppert. Principal photography began on 22 June 2015 in Paris. It was selected to compete for the Golden Bear at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. At Berlin, Hansen-Løve won the Silver Bear for Best Director.

Hansen-Løve stated that she wrote the role of Nathalie with Isabelle Huppert in mind. She also admitted that the character of Nathalie was loosely based on her own mother who was a philosophy professor who separated from her husband later in life.

At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the film received an average score of 88, based on 28 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim".
