Thimmanahalli is a village in Chikkanayakanahalli, a town in Tumkur District. It is Three & a half hour drive from Bangalore in Karnataka, India. History and naming
In 18th century, Thimmarasu Nayaka built fort at the site & established it as a province of the empire. The remnants of Fort could be found adjacent to Bandi-Mane near Eshwar Temple. The prime crops that are grown in Thimmanahalli are coconut's Araca nut, paddy & ragi. It is famous for Coconut's. Hence the name Kaayi Thimmanahalli.
Education
There are three schools in our village.
All of these educational institutions are recognized by the government of Karnataka. Others living in Siddanakatte, Ramanahalli, Hanumanthanahalli, Badakegudlu, and Kandikere, also benefited from these schools. Also These schools take a part in celebration of national days like, Independence day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanthi etc...
