Thierry Pauchant is the Director and Founder of the Ethics Management Chair and a professor at HEC Montreal.

Biography
Born in France in 1955, Pauchant is the Ethics Management Chair Director at HEC Montreal where he first started his studies. He later completed his PhD in California where he studied and worked. In 1987, he moved to Quebec, Canada, where he got his citizenship in 1991. He teaches at HEC Montreal and occupies the Ethics Management Chair, the first chair of its kind in a French business school, that he founded. He currently teaches professional programs (DESG, MBA) and research programs (M.Sc. and PhD). He is also on the board of directors of the FONDACTION CSN Pour la coopération et l'emploi.
Pauchant had management positions in the tourism industry before he became a consultant, trainer and researcher for over 50 organisations in Quebec, Canada, France and USA. Among those organisations are: AT&T, la Chambre des Communes, Apple, CGI, Banque Nationale, Environnement Canada, G.E., Rona, Desjardins, Addeco...). He holds the Ethics Management Chair, a professorship at HEC Montreal (Montreal, CA) and was also Associate Professor at the Fielding Graduate University (Santa Barbara). He received a Bachelor in Administration from the University of Grenoble, a master's degree in urban landscaping at the Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, an MBA in organisational development from UCLA in Los Angeles and a PhD in strategic change and the systemic thought process from USC in Los Angeles.
He co-founded five organisations where he occupies executive positions, including the HEC Montreal Ethics Management Chair and the Ethics comity for research.
Work
Pauchant's work has influenced private, government and scientific fields. He was selected as the cover of the magazine Affaire Plus; the Quebec government tasked him to evaluate their major crisis management system. His contributions to the field of ethical management of crisis and risks gained him an international reputation.
Pauchant's work brought a deeper understanding of ethics in the world of business and management. One of his books, 36 façon d'être éthique au travail, was featured in the paper LesAffaires. Advocating about the scientific fields not being popularized enough, he has given over 200 conferences and participated in more than 120 interviews at the radio, television or newspapers. He also received an award for his teaching skills at University HEC Montreal. The publication of his book "36 façons d'être éthique au travail" was nominated for the Governor’s Business Book Award and offers an insight on the possibility to combine ethics, performance and profit. He's current research are on moral considerations in economical exchanges and the ethical audit of organisations via a detailed quiz created with the contribution of his partners and associates.
Thierry Pauchant was also published in the Kosmos : Journal for global transformation and Lead. His expertise was called in multiple times in newspapers and magazines such as Les Affaires, LaPresse and on news shows at TVA nouvelles and 24|60 show at Radio-Canada
His work is influencing the financial and consulting industries into adopting more ethical and clean practices to avoid possible acts of corruption.
