History

The Woody Show began on January 3, 2006 at Live 105 in San Francisco, California with Jeff "Woody" Fife, Tony Mott, and Renae Ravey. Originally named The Morning Music Co-Op, it was a replacement for Live 105's simulcast of The Howard Stern Show after Stern's move to satellite radio. The program was eventually rebranded and renamed after its three leads, and later rebranded again as simply The Woody Show, much to Woody's chagrin. Greg Gory and Jason "Menace" McMurray later joined The Woody Show from other positions at Live 105.

The show gathered strong ratings and a devoted fanbase, but the crew frequently butted heads off (and sometimes on) the air with executives at Live 105's parent company, CBS Radio. On April 1, 2009, Woody, Ravey, and Tony were terminated for airing a then-unreleased Green Day song, "Know Your Enemy," which resulted in the cancellation of The Woody Show by Live 105. Subsequently, Woody moved to St. Louis, Missouri for the Woody and Rizzuto show on 105.7 The Point, followed by Ravey in 2013. Greg and Menace were not fired and remained at Live 105. Greg later moved on to work at KFOG in late 2011. Woody and Ravey left the Woody and Rizzuto show on April 1, 2014.

On April 21, 2014, Woody, Ravey, Greg, and Menace reunited for The Woody Show at ALT 98.7 in Los Angeles, California.

Executive Producer Sebastian "Sebas" Davis joined the Woody Show on April 6, 2015. He was previously the Executive Producer at Rock 100.5 in Atlanta, Georgia.

On December 18, 2015, the cast of the show announced that they had reached an agreement with iHeart Media to keep the Woody Show in Los Angeles for another three years, through 2018.

On October 18, 2016, ALT 98.7 announced syndication of The Woody Show to the St. Louis, Missouri radio market, on ALT 104.9 FM from 6am to 10am. The show began airing there on November 14, 2016. The show is also expected to be syndicated to various regional radio markets. As part of the show's arrival in St. Louis, Tony Mott returned to the show for the first time since being terminated from Live 105.

Cast and crew

Woody

  • Host, The Woody Show
  • From New Jersey
  • Birthday: October 30
  • Has known Ravey since he was 17 years old
  • Have two kids and is married to wife Jen, who happens to be much more attractive than someone you would think Woody could land.
  • Founder of the Woodacrat Party. Genuinely dislikes both the Democratic and Republican Parties.
  • Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Raised in Plainsboro, New Jersey. Woody is a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
  • Ravey

  • Sidekick, The Woody Show
  • From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Birthday: March 27
  • Diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan.
  • Incredibly sensitive sense of smell; once shared a flight to Las Vegas with rapper, Redfoo, where she claimed he stank. She admitted this onair and it led to several playful radio bits. Ultimately, it was decided that Ravey was not "party."
  • A self described nerd, Ravey loves all things Harry Potter.
  • Has shared many personal anecdotes with Woody Show fans while on the air. In the past, Ravey has discussed her close albeit sometimes bumpy relationship with her mom, her early days in radio, the ups and downs of turning 30, and making ends meet during the Great Depression.
  • Enjoys playing fantasy football; her team is the Burbank Ballers.
  • Greg

  • Sidekick, The Woody Show
  • From Queens, New York
  • Birthday: March 11
  • Moved to Marin County, California at age 4 and considers it his hometown
  • UC San Diego alumnus
  • In January 2017, Greg found rapid success as a singer. Less than a month into his new musical journey, Greg has already collaborated with many of today's hottest artists. His resume includes working with such artists as The Chainsmokers, Major Lazor, and Aaliyah. He hopes to someday collaborate with Vance Joy and bring a new appreciation to the hit song "Riptide". Greg credits his inspiration to nature's very own orchestra: insects (most notably the locust; commonly mistaken as very big grasshoppers).
  • A big animal lover, Greg is an advocate for adoption and encourages people to get their next pets from local shelters and rescues.
  • Greg enjoys wine, motorcycles, and scary movies.
  • Menace

  • Social Media Director, The Woody Show
  • From Redwood City, California
  • Birthday: October 28
  • Dropped out of Academy of Art University to pursue radio.
  • Appeared on Bravo TV Miss Advised
  • Proud papa to two French Bulldogs. As puppies, Menace took time to educate the public on the necessity of using a dog stroller until all of a dog's vaccinations are complete. Menace brought the stroller to several radio events to demonstrate both the usefulness and importance of the item.
  • Menace enjoys energy drinks and the 99 Cents Only store. Fans of The Woody Show can often see the store's latest products and deals on the show's snapchat.
  • As a quick thinker, Menace's channels his talent into firing off rapid, and typically outlandish, excuses. This has led to his very own segment, "The Menace Excuse Generator." The segment aids listeners with their problems, and the excuses often involve Googling useful images to support their claims.
  • Big fan of Taco Bell. Despite frequenting other fast food establishments, Menace has claimed Taco Bell will always be his one true love.
  • Recently had a stone the size of a penny surgically removed from his urethra, along with two other larger stones in his kidney. Has had numerous kidney stone issues in the past.
  • Runs the social media for The Woody Show.
  • Sebas

  • Executive Producer, The Woody Show
  • From Nashville, Tennessee
  • Birthday: September 27
  • Georgia Tech alumnus
  • Member of Mensa
  • Currently lives in an RV, which he enjoys taking ladies home to.
  • Often has many questionable and morally ambiguous "projects" in the works.
  • Has created an annual tradition of terrorizing Ravey with clowns during Halloween.
  • Dreams of one day owning his own compound to complete more of his "projects".
  • Has settled for buying a "mini compound" aka a condo.
  • Julianne

  • Phone screener, The Woody Show
  • Many side bets with Menace on their intelligence
  • Cameron

  • Associate Producer, The Woody Show
  • Pulled his taint at the Chrissymas party
  • Before joining The Woody Show, Cameron allegedly worked on the set of Carpool Karaoke. According to Cameron, "he did some production stuff and then some more stuff -- he even did some stuff in the lead car." Cameron has never really provided his new coworkers (and Woody Show fans) anything more than vague explanations. Some, like Menace, have questioned his prior work experience.
