The Vermicious Knid was an indie rock band from Brantford, Ontario. Formed in October 2000,. They released an EP independently in 2001 and released a second EP, Days That Stand Still, on AntiAntenna Recordings in 2002. However, after releasing their first and only full-length album, Smalltown Devotion/Hometown Compulsion, in 2005 they officially disbanded, although they played their final show at The Ford Plant on 10 February 2006.

The band's name is taken from extraterrestrial creatures in Roald Dahl's novel, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.
Tim Ford continues to be an active member of the music scene of Brantford and Southwestern Ontario, operating a concert venue (The Ford Plant) and a related record label (The Ford Plant Recording Co.). He contributed a solo track, "The Brantford Song", to the 2007 Friends in Bellwoods compilation. Ford is currently in a band called Racoon Wedding [sic], with Jesse Shanks (The Vermicious Knid), Tyler Springall, Drew Ayerhart and Scott Wilson (The Ford Plant).

Ryan Stanley and his wife, Jackie Stanley, perform as a duo called Bardos.
