The Trampformers are an indie-rock band from the Wirral Peninsula in the United Kingdom. They first performed at Calday Grange Grammar School and more recently have been featured on the BBC and at the Zanzibar Club in Liverpool.

Summary
When The Coral first became known in the late 1990s they influenced other guitar-driven bands from the Wirral to follow in their footsteps. One recently established group to attempt this is The Trampformers who, before any band member reached their 17th birthday, are notable for the following: (1) They were special guests for popular Liverpool band Amsterdam, (2) They first managed to play at an established and influential Liverpool music scene venue The Zanzibar Club as part of a charity performance inaugurated by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, (3) They received their second invitation to play at this venue within the same month of their debut and (4) They had their song ‘Drop The Key’ broadcast by the BBC.
About The Trampformers
Indie-rock four piece The Trampformers first started playing at Calday Grange Grammar School on the Wirral, (The Coral's keyboards player Nick Power is a former pupil) where they won the school's 2005 Battle of The Bands Competition and came to the notice of a local promoter. This resulted in a guest slot with the popular Liverpool group Amsterdam (a favourite of BBC DJ John Peel) at one of their rare acoustic happenings in Hoylake, which is recorded on their official site's news page for June 2006.Amsterdam are now widely known for their recent chart hit 'Does This Train Stop On Merseyside'.
From there The Trampformers were offered, by Tony Butler, their first performance at Liverpool's Zanzibar Club. This led to a second invite from The Zanzibar twenty days later, a live webcast on AiiRadio and a debut CD Live at The Zanzibar.
In December 2006 The Trampformers tune 'Drop The Key' was featured on BBC Radio Merseyside's Billy Butler Show for their local Friday afternoon talent spot and Power Promotion's Lyn Staunton, a regular contributor to the Billy Butler Show, was positive in her comments. The Trampformers are currently taking a break from gigging to concentrate on their academic studies.
