The Sound of the Life of the Mind Tour is a 2012 reunion tour for the alternative rock band Ben Folds Five. On January 26, 2012, a Ben Folds Five reunion was announced as the band was confirmed to play the Mountain Jam Festival in Hunter, New York This announcement came as the band was in the studio recording their comeback album The Sound of the Life of the Mind. More news that would say the reunion was to last came on February 14, 2012 when the group were listed on the lineup for the 2012 edition of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. These announcements were eventually followed by the news of shows in both Europe, and North America, as well as more festival warm-up dates. The tour was a success for the band, who had not played together since 2008 and had not toured since 2000.
