The Smokers is a painting by the Flemish painter Adriaen Brouwer, painted in ca. 1636. It hangs in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York City. The oil-on-wood painting measures 46.40 by 36.80 centimetres (18.27 in × 14.49 in), and it is signed by the artist.
Brouwer probably painted The Smokers in Antwerp.
Description
The painting is of several young men with long wigs and pencil moustaches, smoking cigarettes and drinking beer. A self-portrait of Bouwer appears among them.
