The SATUC Cup is an international five-a-side football tournament for U15 boys who are war refugees, orphans or come from underprivileged backgrounds. It was created by Princess Sheikha Al Thani and initially staged in Egypt in 2014. In 2015, eight international teams competed in Cairo and, in 2017, 24 nations will be represented in an expanded competition.

2014 SATUC Cup
The inaugural event took place in Cairo when teams from all across the country were brought together to compete in the pilot competition.
2015 SATUC Cup
The event was expanded to eight teams and there were representatives from Egypt, England, Syria, Philippines, Algeria, Morocco, Ivory Coast and Mauritania.
The matches took place in the Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex in Egypt during August 28 – September 3, 2015 and the competition was won by Egypt who beat Ivory Coast 5-2 in the final. England came third, having beaten Morocco 5-2 in their 3/4 placed play-off match.
2016 Safe Egypt SATUC Tournament
50 Syrian refugees and 100 Egyptian orphans competed in a 5 aside football tournament in Sharm El Sheikh between December 31, 2015 and January 3, 2016. New SATUC Ambassador George Weah attended the event as guest of honour
2017 SATUC Cup
Teams from 24 countries will take part in the expanded competition in July 2017. An announcement about the venue will be made in January 2016.
Ambassadors
The honorary President of the SATUC Cup is the former manager of Egypt, Hassan Shehata. The SATUC Cup ambassadors include Royal Ballet soloist Fernando Montano, Egypt's Ahmed Hassan, the most capped male international footballer of all time, Nader El-Sayed who won 110 caps as goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team, Moroccan footballer Aziz Bouderbala, Honduran national coach Jorge Luis Pinto, Wigan's FA Cup winning goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi, former Chelsea and Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini, Algerian European Cup winner Rabah Madjer and the Ivory Coast's Abdoulaye Traore.
SATUC
SATUC (Sheikha Al Thani for Uniting Children) is a charity registered in Egypt and working out of Cairo and London. It aims to help disadvantaged children and orphans all over the world. It focuses on programs that help to empower children through community projects; equipping children with the social, academic and sporting skills they will need to excel in life. Football, as team sport, is seen by SATUC as a vital tool in achieving their goals.
Princess Sheikha Al Thani
Born in New York, Sheikha is a member of the ruling family of Qatar although her Egyptian mother brought her up in England, Egypt and the USA and she has lived mainly in London since 2011. She created SATUC in 2013 and is the founder of The SATUC World Cup.
In January 2016 Princess Sheikha was appointed Goodwill Ambassador and member of the World Federation of United Nation's Friends.
