The Revivalists are a North American rock/soul band formed in New Orleans in 2007. The group's sound has been described as "a Crescent City-rhythm spin on jam-band jubilee." The band released its latest album Men Amongst Mountains on July 17, 2015, via Wind-up Records, and in March 2016 was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of "10 Bands You Need to Know." Formation

The Revivalists began when guitarist Zack Feinberg met frontman David Shaw. Shaw fatefully encountered Feinberg when he happened to be riding his bike. Feinberg, taking a different route than usual, found himself riding past Shaw who was singing a song called “Purple Heart” on his front porch. The two struck up a conversation and got together later that day to play music. The duo began playing with Andrew Campanelli, a drummer Feinberg had met at Tipitina’s. Within a week, the earliest version of the band played their first show at Checkpoint Charlie’s Laundromat/Bar on Esplanade Avenue. By the time they got a chance to play at Tipitina’s a few weeks later, the name “The Revivalists” appeared on the bill for the first time.

The Revivalists' self-titled EP was self-released on May 15, 2008 and was named one of the best albums of 2008 by WWOZ New Orleans DJ Sherwood Collins. Their debut album, Vital Signs, was also self-released on March 3, 2010, and was produced by engineer Chris Finney.

Their follow-up albums were released by Wind-up Records. Their second album, City of Sound was re-released on March 4, 2014 with a second disc containing over an hour of live tracks, City of Sound veers folk, pop and a healthy dose of soul. Singles from this album included Criminal, Navigate Below, and Upright.

Their third album, Men Amongst Mountains, was released on July 17, 2015. The album has sold 19,000 copies to date.

Today, their members also include Ed Williams (pedal steel guitar), Rob Ingraham (saxophone), George Gekas (bass) and Michael Girardot (keys/trumpet).
