Development
Camua and Thompson both funded the film through the crowdfunding website Indiegogo for forty days from February 2, 2015 - March 14, 2015. While reaching 50% of their goal, the two began to earn money to fund it through other outlets, such as creating original artwork and shirt designs. The two promoted heavily through their own network as well as the popular social networking sites Instagram and Twitter. The film will make its website debut in the late Spring 2015, powered by The Grid.
Pre-Production
The film is currently in pre-production, with the two co-managers of the film working on their respective duties to help further fund the film. Pre-Production will run from March 15, 2015 to May 31, 2015.
Filming
The film takes place in San Francisco, so the crew and cast will film the external scenes in various areas there, as well as in the San Fernando Valley. Filming will be done in segments from May-August 2015. Filming officially began on 23 May 2015, when Camua, Thompson, and Elmido visited LACMA in Los Angeles to film scenes.
Release
The Outside World will be released on iTunes to those who donated through Indiegogo a week in advance, with the public release on 4 December 2015.
