The National Parks (band) THE NATIONAL PARKS Music Inform

Profiles

The National Parks formed in early 2013 in Provo, Utah. September of that year, their first album "Young" was released, along with the standalone single "As We Ran". This debut album was funded through Kickstarter. The album climbed to #13 on the ITunes singer/songwriter chart which propelled them to play shows in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City with Andy Grammer, The Lone Bellow, LeAnn Rimes, and The Moth & The Flame. March 15, 2014 marked the band's first public performance after donating money made from its single "Love in the Tetons" to the National Parks Conservation Association. In the Fall that year, the National Park Experience commissioned the song "As We Ran", which was featured in their debut film Love in the Tetons. International attention to the band began with the release of "Helsinki" in January 2015. The band features folk-pop song craft on acoustic guitar and violin, backed up by rare electronic influences.

In April 2016, "Monsters of the North", a lead single from "Until I Live", was announced as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. As part of the centennial of the National Park Service, the National Parks performed for the National Parks Conservation Association in June 2016. After their sophomore release, the band has been compared to Mumford & Sons, and has sold out shows in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.
