Based on the classic children's book series Mr. Men and Little Miss, the show takes place in the town of Dillydale. The show revolves around the characters from the books (though some characters were made for the show) and their adventures. Unlike the books (which featured characters like Mr. Tickle, Mr. Brave, Mr. Happy, Little Miss Bossy, and Little Miss Sunshine as major characters), the TV show stars every character, but only a handful of them. Most episodes are not based on the books but are, in fact, new stories. There are also several changes in the TV show. the show was back on tv and it premiered on Sprout in April 16th 2017. and the preschool series is for kids ages 4 and 3.

Some artistic license has been taken in adapting the books for television, including name changes, design alterations and the creation of entirely new characters. In 2008, Mr. Rude, Mr. Quiet, Mr. Strong, Mr. Grumpy, Mr. Fussy, Little Miss Naughty, Little Miss Whoops, Mr. Messy, Little Miss Helpful, Mr. Small, Mr. Nosey, Mr. Nervous, Mr. Lazy, Little Miss Magic, Mr. Tall, Little Miss Bossy, Mr. Funny and Little Miss Curious have undergone re-imaginings, (it should be noted in season 1 that Mr. Fussy was renamed Mr. Persnickety in the US broadcast and Mr. Pernickety in the UK broadcast). Little Miss Calamity and Little Miss Daredevil were created exclusively for the television series.

    Dillydale

In Roger Hargreaves' original book series, each of the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters were given a hometown: Happyland, Tiddletown, Nonsenseland - in the television series, all the characters live in the same city, the township of Dillydale. The name "Dillydale" was coined by series producer Peggy Regan. To commemorate the historic naming, Peggy was presented with a plaque and the honorary title "The Mayor of Dillydale".
