The Medicine Man is a bronze equestrian statue by Cyrus E. Dallin. It is located in Fairmount Park, Dauphin Street, west of 33rd Street, Philadelphia.

History

It was cast in 1899. It was exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1899, and Exposition Universelle (1900), Paris, where it won a gold medal. It was purchased by the Association for Public Art (formerly the Fairmount Park Art Association) for $6,000. It was dedicated on December 10, 1903.

A reduced edition was produced by the Gorham Foundry; an example is in the Amon Carter Museum.
