The Maze Runner is a series of science-fiction dystopian action adventure films from 20th Century Fox based on The Maze Runner novels by the American author James Dashner. The series is produced by Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and stars Dylan OBrien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee and Patricia Clarkson. Wes Ball serves as director for the first two films.

The first film, The Maze Runner, was released on September 19, 2014. It was a commercial success, as it topped the box-office during its opening weekend with a $32.5 million debut. Since its release, the film has grossed over $340.6 million worldwide. It received generally positive reviews, with praise aimed at its "strong acting, intriguing premise, and refreshingly dark tone."
The second film, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, is set to be released on September 18, 2015, while the third film, Maze Runner: The Death Cure is set to be released on February 17, 2017.

The Maze Runner (2014)
The story follows sixteen-year-old Thomas (Dylan OBrien) who awakens in a rusty elevator with no memory of who he is, only to learn hes been delivered to the middle of an intricate maze, along with a slew of other boys, who have been trying to find their way out of the ever-changing labyrinth – all while establishing a functioning society in what they call the Glade.
Principal photography took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from May 13, 2013 to July 12, 2013.
The Scorch Trials (2015)
The Gladers have escaped the Maze, but now they face a new set of challenges on the open roads of a world ravaged by solar flares and disease.
Principal photography took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from October 27, 2014, to January 29, 2015.
The Death Cure (2017)
In March 2015, it was confirmed that T.S. Nowlin, who co-wrote the first and wrote the second film, is set to adapt Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
Ball confirmed that, if he returns to direct, the film will not be split into two films. It is currently planned to be released on February 17, 2017.
