The Killing Of Two Lovers - Official Trailer
The film revolves around the dramatic situation surrounding the trial separation of a young husband and wife. The lead actor in the movie is Clayne Crawford, who plays David, a man close to his thirties. He is a devoted father to four young children who sacrificed his artistic dreams so that he can care for people who mattered most in his life. He is a very caring man but is very short-tempered too. His wife, Niki, seems to be the sole breadwinner of the family, working at a nearby law firm. She is juggling her attention between her career and taking care of her children.
David and Niki face problems in their relationship, and David has shifted to his father’s house, just a couple of blocks away. At first, the viewers get the impression that their marital problems are mainly due to the financial situation since David is unemployed. This is when David sees a law-firm colleague of Niki’s leaving the house in the morning. This adds insult to his injury, and we see a David who tries hard not to cry, pointing a fully loaded gun at his wife and her lover Derek at the beginning of the film.
Review

Anyone who has entered into a marriage or relationship can testify to the authenticity of the fact that falling in love is easy but staying in love is a trial. Only those who have endured a divorce or suffered a breakup can truly understand the indescribable sense of loss, betrayal, and shame that such incidents make them feel. For most people, such experiences will be surely the most painful in their entire lifetime. Robert Machoian’s psychodrama “The Killing of Two Lovers” attempts to depict such complex emotions which a couple experience as they go through separation in marriage.
In the film, David and Nikki are split under somewhat amicable situations. Even after separation, David can visit his children on the weekends and walk them to school. The couple even went for a date night, hoping to solve the tension between them. Here we can see David hopes for the best and thinks everything will be back to normal soon. However, Nikki is feeling rather indifferent to the situation. Their teenage daughter Jesse is also confused and frustrated about how things turned out.
Even though all the actors have paid justice to their roles, Crawford’s immaculate performance as a broken man on the brim of heartbroken insanity makes “The Killing of Two Lovers” worth watching.
