Plot summary

The main character, Motcyzka, is asked to pick up a bird for Thanksgiving dinner, so he brings home a 1066-pound chicken named Gayle. The family welcomes her with open arms, but the neighbors are not so sure. Everyone in town is horrified after Gayle escapes and starts teaching at a middle school.

'The Hoboken Chicken Emergency was adapted into a television movie in 1984. It was adapted into a play by Chad Henry in 1988.
