The Empire Lights is an alternative pop band from Australia and Ireland composed of Sarah Reeve (vocals, piano, songwriting) and Ronan McCormick (management, drums).

History

The Empire Lights were formed by founding members Sarah Reeve and Ronan McCormick in 2009 in Sydney, Australia, before moving to Cork, Ireland in 2010. There, they were joined by local musicians to release their debut single 'Momentum'. Momentum was released digitally and on hard copy and peaked at number 11 on the Official iTunes Charts. To accompany the release, the band toured Ireland's music venues, music stores and schools, as well as performing acoustically in famous music hotspots such as Grafton Street in Dublin and Shop Street in Galway.

In 2013, The Empire Lights moved to London, where they are currently working on their debut EP.

Musical style and influences

The Empire Lights take influence from such acts as, Coldplay, U2, Kings Of Leon, The Script, Thin Lizzy, Norah Jones, Maroon 5, Adele, Alicia Keys, and Michael Jackson.
