Mission

The Building Fund is dedicated to supporting the capital and operating expenses of both The Tuskegee International School and The Young Apostles International School of Ghana, West Africa. In its support of access to education, The Building Fund seeks to create and sustain opportunities at the schools it serves by funding the completion of buildings and classrooms, donating supplies to classrooms, teachers and students, providing scholarships for students, and engaging volunteers with the schools.

Values

The development and expansion of educational opportunities worldwide is crucial to the advancement of children. At a time when 115 million of the world's 680 million primary school age children do not attend school, The Building Fund values
• funding that ensures and improves educational infrastructure, materials, and personnel
• expanding and improving educational opportunities for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children
• healthy, stable, and novel learning environments
• teachers with proper and continuous training who encourage active learning and participation from students,
• the exchange of students and adults to learn, teach, and share in developing educational opportunities.

Goals

Through grants and donations, as well as the hard work of board members and volunteers, The Building Fund will create and sustain opportunities in education in the following ways:
• Support the completion of each school served by donating $6,000 over a three-year period
• Sustain the maintenance of each school served by donating $1,000 each year thereafter
• Provide a minimum of 15 full scholarships for students at each school served
• Annually provide each school with one week of on-site teacher training each year
• Engage volunteers in each school that is served
