The 7th Dwarf (German: ), is a German 3D computer-animated film, created in 2014. The movie is based upon the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty and characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is a sequel to the films 7 Dwarves – Men Alone in the Wood (2004) and 7 Dwarves: The Forest Is Not Enough (2006). The film was released in cinemas on the 25th of September 2014.

Seven clumsy dwarfs try to undo the spell they unwillingly unleashed and save the fairy tales world with the help of a tired dragon and a butterfly. The evil witch Dellamorta cursed princess Rose when she was a baby. Before she turns 18, Rose will get stung in the finger by a sharp object and she and the whole castle will fall into a hundred year long sleep unless her true love would kiss her. The night before her birthday she sends her bf Jack to the 7 dwarfs, who live behind the 7 mountains to hide until after Rose has turned 18. Unfortunately he gets lost and captured by Dellamorta's dragon Burner. So at the party, Rose gets stung in the finger, and everyone falls into deep sleep. Everyone but the 7 dwarfs of course who will go on a journey to save Jack so he can save Rose.

Plot

In the castle Fantabularasa is a big celebration because of the 18th birthday of Princess Rose. She has a curse of an evil Ice Fairy. If she stands up until midnight on a sharp object, the whole kingdom will sleep hundred years. Thats why the princess has to armor. Everything is going according to plan until the clumsy Bubi, the seventh dwarf, committing a big mistake and Dellamortas curse is started. Only with a kiss of true love the curse can be stopped. But Dellamorta caught the Kitchen Boy Jack who loves Rose. With the help of the Dragon Burner the dwarves search the “Prince Charming�.

Deutsche Zwerge-Fans durften nach sieben Jahren Wartezeit enttauscht sein, denn der animierte Film ist zwar kindgerechter als die ersten beiden Filme, bietet dabei allerdings (noch) weniger witzige Momente.
German ‘Dwarves fans’ are likely to be disappointed after seven years of waiting, because the animated film is suitable for children than the first two films, but has not so much funny moments.

The fans of Real Movies should be clear that the ‘The 7th Dwarf’ is more moderate in his humor. Nina Hagen plays the witch with great viciousness. The bottom line is: Fleet entertainment for kids.
