The jungleking ranges from Manipur to southern Myanmar. and Indochina.
A related species, the tufted jungleking (Thauria aliris Frühstorfer, 1902) occurs in Asia.
Status
Evans reports the butterfly as rare in its range.

The name honours Percy Ireland Lathy.
