Geography
Teonthar is located at 24.98°N 81.65°E / 24.98; 81.65. It has an average elevation of 151 metres (495 feet). At the old time teonthar was ruled by kol raja's. Teonthar is the oldest route from north india to south india. Teonthar is known for its second century old boudha stupa, which is situated at deor kothar area of teonthar. It is very important place to know about baudha culture. Teonthar resided on the bank of tamas river (Anciant name of tamas is tamsa as cited in Great ramayana). Teonthar is a better place for water sport.
