Tei Gordon

Tei A. Gordon (ゴードン禎) Gordon Tei, born June 2, 1970), pronounced Tay, is an American-and Japanese educated, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist and has lived all throughout the Pacific Rim, including Oregon, Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, California, and currently resides on the man-made island of Odaiba in Tokyo, Japan.

Gordon has received international recognition for his role as an entrepreneur focused on cross-border market entry for Internet and technology companies and has founded, among other companies, gEco Holdings, LLC, Energy Advisor, and venture capital/Acquisitions boutique - Aja Ventures, Inc.

Biography

Starting his first venture Energy Advisor - an energy services company - at age 12, earned Tei honorable mentions in the NY Times and USA Today newspapers.

In 1999, with two partners, he started a venture capital and M&A company “Aja Ventures.” partners. He has held various other management positions working at his family energy conservation and engineering company; as a trader in the food section of Mitsubishi Corporation and as an Advisor to JETRO (The Japan External Trade Organization). He is also a guest business-strategy lecturer at Waseda University's extension campus – the “Nakazawa Academy.”

His interests include history, especially related to (Scotland) and early-Japan (Heian Period).

Current work

Tei is currently running the international market-entry consulting and trading company gEco Holdings, LLC "gEco." The enterprise is the result of a graduation thesis completed in 2003, while studying an MBA at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo.

He is a former independent spokesman to foreign media and Global Communications Advisor to NTT Communications, where he leveraged governmental, international and venture business experience to support its president and CEO in international activities.

Tei is a family representative for Cock o' the North - Single Malt Scotch Whisky Liqueur - in Japan, as well as agent for over a dozen award-winning wineries and distilleries specializing in Pinot Noir wines from Oregon. Concurrently, Tei is working as conducting marketing and promotion in Japan for (Kona Brewing Company) of Hawaii.

With a longtime associate, Tei is publishing a book through Shinchosha – the largest publisher in Japan. The book is a non-fiction historical biography about a young Japanese boy named Otokichi that eventually inspired Commodore Perry to open trade relations with Japan in 1854 and dramatically impacted modern Japanese history.
