Theodore A. “Ted” Corless (born April 29, 1967) is a prominent American trial lawyer, blogger, radio host and national news commentator.

Ted is the voice and editor behind the New Munchies platform, which consists of a news-style blog, a series of network radio broadcasts on Clear Channel’s 970WFLA and iHeartRadio, and podcasts.

Ted Corless was born on April 29, 1967 in Charleston, South Carolina and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Broadcast career

Ted Corless has served as an expert on Fox News Channel’s, CNBC’s Power Lunch, Good Morning America: Weekend Edition, Fox 13’s Good Day Tampa Bay, and CBS 10 News.

Ted appeared on the Riotcast Network’s Comedy Cellar podcast to debate “stand your ground laws” and the George Zimmerman verdict.

Ted has guest hosted on WMNF 88.5FM.

Career

Ted Corless graduated in 1989 from the University of Missouri with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in Physical Anthropology. During Ted’s last year of college, he worked for the future U.S. Attorney General, John Ashcroft, when Ashcroft served as Governor of Missouri.

Ted received his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law where he was the Managing Editor of the UMKC Law Review. Corless is licensed to practice law in Missouri (1995), Kansas (1996) and Florida (1999). He is also licensed to practice in several Federal District Courts and Federal Appellate Courts. Ted is ranked “AV” by the Martindale-Hubbell® system for being recognized by his peers as having the highest level of excellence and professionalism.

Ted trained at Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. and then served as a litigator at the Tampa-based law firm Carlton Fields, P.A. In 2009, Ted Corless joined well-known litigator Fred Zinober to form the Corless Zinober law firm. In 2010, Ted created the Corless Barfield Trial Group in Tampa, Florida.

In 2013, Ted was rated as one of the top attorneys by the law publication, The American Lawyer.

Corless has authored and presented lectures throughout the United States on a wide variety of legal topics including insurance coverage, complex expert testimony, and insurance bad faith.
