Early life
Tathagata Mukherjee studied at the Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama High School, and thereafter studied drama at Rabindra Bharati University. He has done professional theater for 12 years, since his childhood. He did 3 years yatra with legendary Chapal Bhaduri.
Career
He started his career as film actor in a film called Laal Ronger Duniya in (2007), as protagonist. Produced by Kaustav Roy, the film was adopted from a famous novel written by Rupak Saha. In 2008, he started his television career as a hero in a daily soap called Sada Patay Kalo Daag another best selling novel by Rupak Saha. After that he has done many telefilms and daily soap on various channels. Bou Kotha Kao(2009), which produced by Ravi Ojha Production was a turning point of his career.After that he played lead characters In "payer tolar mati", "harano sur" ,"kon kanoner phool","sokhi","care kori na",. He did cameo roles in Agnipariksha and "tumi asbe bole ". Tathagata played the lead role in Arindam Sil-directed TV-series Choukath, opposite Debolina Dutta, which aired on Ruposhi Bangla. In 2014 tathagata did two films back to back,superhit "Badsahi angti" and "Force".His performance loved by critics and public both.His first Hindi film was "The best seller " directed by Suman maitra. Tathagata essayed the role of reporter Debabrata Bose, alias, Dev in Raashi(TV series). He played the protagonist in Mon Niye Kachakachi as Ranbir Kapoor, opposite to Basabdatta Chatterjee on Star Jalsa in 2015/16.in In 2016 Tathagata Mukherjee and his wife Debleena Dutt formed their production house and named it "Mirage films". His first independent short film as director was Shuyopoka ("The Inmate"), released on December 2016. Right now he is working on the post production of his next short film(Geodesy aka figure of the earth) which he just finish shooting.As an actor right now he is busy with renowned journalist and novelist shankarlal bhattacharya's film "parokiya".He is playing the protagonist(Bivas) of the film.For the first time Tathagata and his wife debleena are playing a married couple in "parokiya". The film(parokiya) based on a short story written by the director himself on 2008.apart from this he is shooting for "swapno uran"(tv series)2017,Radha{TV series) 2017and Shree Krishna(TV series)2017.
